Olympiacos S.F.P. in Sant Cugat and Barcelona for the DigiRoot European Programme

The General Assembly of the European Multisport Club Association (EMCA) is taking place in Sant Cugat, Barcelona, from 19 to 21 March, serving as a meeting point for the partners of the Erasmus+ DigiRoot project. As part of the programme, the partners’ meeting was held on the first day (19/3), with the active participation of Olympiacos S.F.P.

DigiRoot is an innovative Erasmus+ project implemented by a strong network of sports organisations and institutions, including the European Multisport Club Association (EMCA), TSV Bayer 04 Leverkusen (Germany), Olympiacos S.F.P. (Greece), Levski Sport for All (Bulgaria), HAŠK Mladost (Croatia), the Global Sport Innovation Center – GSIC (Spain), and the University of Cyprus – UCY (Cyprus), with the support of associated partners such as IIISSS (Italy). The project aims to support the digital transformation of grassroots sports clubs through the development of modern tools, the enhancement of digital skills, and the adoption of best practices.

During the meeting, partners reviewed the progress achieved so far and engaged in detailed discussions on the next steps and final activities of the project. Particular emphasis was placed on the upcoming official communication of the digital platform, the development and management strategy for social media, the sustainability dimension of the project, and the effective dissemination of its results.

As this was the final project meeting, partners also defined the final deliverables and the actions required for the successful completion of the project, which is now entering its final phase.

Olympiacos S.F.P. remains strongly committed to its participation in European programmes, and particularly in DigiRoot, actively contributing to strengthening cooperation among sports organisations and creating meaningful impact at both local and international level.

Olympiacos S.F.P. hosted the DigiRoot Roll-out Presentation in Greece

Olympiacos S.F.P., within the framework of its active participation in the European project DigiRoot – Managing the Digital Transformation in Grassroots Sports, hosted the local roll-out presentation of the project in Greece at the Club’s offices.

The meeting was attended by Olympiacos S.F.P. staff, collaborators, representatives of the sports ecosystem, and relevant stakeholders, with the aim of informing participants about the importance of digitalisation and digital upgrading for modern sports organisations.

During the presentation, participants were introduced to the main objectives of DigiRoot, a European initiative designed to support grassroots sports clubs and multisport organisations in adopting digital tools, educational resources, and innovative solutions. Particular emphasis was placed on how digital technology can contribute to improving internal organisation, communication, data management, daily operations, and the long-term sustainability of sports organisations.

An online walkthrough of the DigiRoot platform was also carried out, allowing participants to gain a practical understanding of its content, functionalities, and usage process. During the online navigation, the main steps for accessing the platform were explained, along with how to make use of the available educational resources and tools, as well as the opportunities it offers to support sports clubs throughout their digital transformation process.

The event also highlighted the crucial role of an organisation’s human resources, such as administrative staff, coaches, employees, and collaborators, in successfully transitioning towards a more modern, efficient, and digitally mature operational model. Through the presentation, it was underlined that digital upgrading is no longer a future option, but a necessary process for strengthening the efficiency, transparency, and resilience of sports organisations.

DigiRoot focuses on the development of a European learning and digital resources platform, which will provide useful educational material, practical guidance, and tools to support clubs throughout their digital transformation journey. The platform is expected to contribute to skills development, capacity building, and the exchange of good practices among sports organisations at European level.

By organising this roll-out presentation, Olympiacos S.F.P. contributed to strengthening the visibility of DigiRoot in Greece, disseminating the project’s objectives to key actors of the local sports ecosystem, and raising awareness about the need for digital transformation in sports clubs.

Olympiacos Continues Active Participation in European Meetings with DigiRoot

The series of meetings for the European Commission's Erasmus+ programs continues, with Olympiacos CFP actively participating. On Wednesday, April 2nd, our team took part in the online meeting of the DigiRoot program.

DigiRoot is a highly significant initiative, involving numerous partners, with the European Multisport Club Association (EMCA) serving as a key pillar. Olympiacos plays a central role within EMCA, which is crucial in promoting digital transformation for sports clubs across Europe.

During the meeting, the current progress of the program was discussed, along with upcoming actions to be implemented. Any challenges that had arisen were also addressed, with solutions being explored.

A delegation from Olympiacos was in Madrid, Spain, for one of the regular meetings of the European program DigiRoot. The club is actively involved in this program, which aims to support grassroots sports clubs across Europe, helping them adopt innovative digital technologies that will enhance their operations and sustainability.

Olympiacos plays a leading role in the European programs! The European meetings that our club participates in, through the European Commission and Erasmus+, do not stop even during the summer months. Thus, the previous days, an online meeting for the DigiRoot programme was held.
